Barbells for Boobs – Helen Meets Grace @ XFNA

FAQs:
· Date and Time?
o Saturday October 27th 2012 – 9:00am warm up and start time promptly thereafter.
· How will it be structured?
o We’re going to run in heats of 3-4 teams at a time to allow everyone ample room to compete. So get ready to cheer on your gym mates both before and after your heats!
· Can teams be composed of a male and a female?
o Of course! There is plenty of equipment for everyone!
· Will the workout be scaled?
o As always, if you need something scaled to prevent injury then your coaches will help you figure it out!
· Is there a fee to participate?
o No; however we encourage you to sign up at http://www.barbellsforboobs.com and fundraise for a great cause!
· Do I have to wear pink?
o No, it is not necessary however we strongly encourage it to really get in the spirit of the event and so we can take lots of awesome pictures of you beasting out for boobies!
· Do I have to be a member of XFNA?
o Yes; although if you have a friend that is actively participating in XFIT somewhere else and they can perform the movements safely, then we’ll allow them to partner with YOU. No 1st time XFITers – NO EXCEPTIONS.
· Where are we doing the workout?
o Due to the equipment necessary to do this particular event, we will be doing it at XFNA.
· Will you assign me a partner?
o No. You’ll need to find your own partner before the event or be ready to find one that morning … i.e. Don’t assume you’re your favorite person from class has not already found a partner.
· Can my family/friends come watch me?
o Absolutely!
· Can I just come and support the gang?
o Absolutely!
· Can I bring a new person to try out CrossFit?
o No, see question #7. However, they are more than welcome to come watch and cheer you on and your gym mates!!!
· What is the workout we will be doing?
o “Helen Meets Grace” – see below for description.
This is a TWO-PERSON team workout with one person working at a time, except for the 400m runs, which must be performed together.

HELEN consists of THREE rounds of: 400 meter run (both partners run together), 21 kettlebell swings (Rx 53/35#) and 12 pull-ups. Partners can tag-team in and out of the kettlebell swings and/or pull-ups as needed.

Once all three rounds of HELEN are complete, the team immediately moves on to perform GRACE which consists of: 30 clean and jerks (Rx 135/95#) as fast as possible, partitioned anyhow between the two team members.

Score is total time for the team to complete both workouts!
