The more you give the more you get…

CrossFit is a relationship. It’s a relationship with your body, your peers, your food, and even your soul. This crazy beautiful thing we do every day…I’ve never met anyone who did it and regretted their path. There are injuries, there are momentary second thoughts when working on a difficult movement or weight, there are doubts when feeling the aches and pains a heavy squat day can bring, but never regret.

The more you give here, the more of yourself you throw into this workout, the more you’re going to get. You commit half of yourself to this, you’re going to have slow progress. You won’t grow or get better past a certain point. You’ll start to stagnate.

Commit yourself fully, to the lifestyle change inside the gym and outside the gym, and watch what happens. Watch how you get better, every day. Watch how your outlook on things changes – things that seemed hard before are simply things to get done. Watch how obstacles become little bumps in the road, and don’t even really slow you down. Watch how you start looking at your life and peers and all the work you do and the rewards you reap. You’ll become more positive…more adept at handling what life throws at you. You’ll learn to appreciate your body, your scars, and your accomplishments. You’ll learn to appreciate the accomplishments of others. You’ll learn to be aware. Aware of what you can do, and aware of what you want to do.

It’s a relationship. One you’re having with yourself. You’re going to have to put in the work to make it thrive. That’s just the way it is.

But the more you give, the more you’ll have to give. The more you have to give, the more you’re going to want to give.
